Nobody Left Behind
An event to mark International Open Access Week on Thursday 24 October.
International Open Access Week begins on Monday 21 October and this year’s theme is “Open for Whom? Equity in Open Knowledge”.
To celebrate, we’re hosting “Nobody left behind: Exploring the role of Open Research in equitable scholarly communication” – a series of short talks on the accessibility of open research, followed by a panel discussion on how we can support equitable access to research outputs.
Starting at 12pm with a networking lunch provided, speakers include:
- Dr. J. Bernadette Moore, Associate Professor of Obesity in the School of Food Science and Nutrition
- Dr Sunjie Ye, Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Molecular and Nanoscale Physics
- Shelley Allen, Head of Open Research at Emerald Publishing
- Professor Alice O’Grady, Professor in Applied Performance and Head of the School of Performance and Cultural Industries. Member of editorial board of Dancecult: Journal of Electronic Dance Music Culture
Visit the Library blog and social media throughout Open Access Week as we share successes, along with stories about the impact that sharing papers via the White Rose Research Online repository has in low-income nations.
