Developing your students' academic skills

Using Skills@Library materials

We’ve developed a series of resources for you to use in your teaching sessions or embed in Minerva.

Each workshop is carefully structured: it includes an outline of its aims, a lesson plan, a PowerPoint presentation, and handouts.

Download our teaching materials for:

  • Reading and note making: resources to develop students’ awareness of different reading strategies and practical methods for increasing reading speed and making notes.
  • Referencing: resources to help students understand what referencing is, why they should reference, and how to reference using an approved style.
  • Writing a literature review: resources to provide students with an overview of how to write the literature review for their undergraduate dissertation.

You might also want to use our online tutorials for independent or blended learning.

You are welcome to adapt the materials to suit your own needs. Lecturer resources have a different licence to those on the rest of our website, so we recommend that you read the terms of our copyright licences.
