Fines for overdue items

You might be charged a fine if the following items become overdue:

  • Items that have been requested by another customer
  • 1 day loans.

You will accumulate fines until the item is returned.

How much are the fines?

The following fine charges apply:

  • Requested items: £2.50 per day
  • 1-day loan: £1 per day

Fines are not charged for the days the library is closed.

If after several reminders you have not returned the item, we will invoice you for the cost of replacing it. If you then return the item you will not have to pay the replacement charge.

Items that have been requested by other customers and 1 day loans will incur fines in addition to the replacement charge.

If you owe more than £35 in fines, you will not be able to borrow any more items.
