Who can use the Library

University students and staff

All University of Leeds staff and students have Library membership. Your staff or student ID is your membership card. It gives you full access to all libraries, services, and resources.

Don't forget your student/ staff ID card!

Your staff or student ID card acts as your membership card for the Library. You'll receive your ID card when you register for your course or begin your employment.

You'll need this card to access library buildings, borrow and renew items, and access services such as Document Supply or Special Collections.

Members are only allowed entry without a card three times per term and will be unable to borrow.

Check your Library record

Your Library record is available online. From your Library record, you can see how many books you've borrowed and when to bring them back, renew the items you aren't ready to return, and pay any outstanding fines.

Undergraduate, postgraduate and staff have different borrowing rights. Find out what you can borrow.
