Data literacy

Data literacy is how you handle data as a special form of information.

We all need a basic understanding of legal, ethical and security issues when we provide our own data. We also need to know how to handle data about someone else, for example, during research

Reflect on your data literacy by asking:

  • Do I understand how my own data is gathered and used?
  • Can I interpret data effectively, including data I have gathered and that others have produced and communicated?
