Digital wellbeing

Digital wellbeing is about how you assess the impact that digital devices, tools, services and systems have on you. It relates to how you look after your personal health, safety, relationships and work-life balance in digital settings.

It’s about developing an awareness of all the ways that digital tools can have an impact on our lives and on the people around us. For example, this could be awareness and understanding of health impacts such as online fatigue. It could also include wider aspects, such as how to recognise online bullying, scams, and fake news.

Reflect on your digital wellbeing by asking:

  • How do I use my digital access to achieve what I want in life, nurture my friendships and stay well?
  • How do I manage digital stress, distraction and information overload?
  • How do I critically evaluate and curate the content and networks I interact with online to ensure I’m getting the most out of my online presence?
